Indian partners for GV

As co-leader of Megha-Tropiques, the Indian Space Agency ISRO (https://www.isro.gov.in/Spacecraft/megha-tropiques ) is developing an ambitious GV plan over India using operational and dedicated facilities.. In addition a joint ground validation plan is being defined with our colleagues from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore. Joint activities already started as part of the Indo-French Cell For Water Sciences  , over the ORE-BVET  instrumented basin of Kabini  where the rain gages network has been further densified recentlt thanks to ISRO. Together with the team led by Sekhar Muddhu from the department of civil engineering  both direct and hydrological validaton of the Megha-Tropiques rain product will persued over Kabini basin  : the task is all the more challlenging yet interesting that the area is characterized by an accidented relief and extreme précipitation gradients.

Note that we are organizing with our Indian colleagues and the Indo-French Cell For Water Sciences a small MT GV workshop to be held at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore, India , 7-9 May 2012; please contact us (marielle.gosset@ird.fr) for more information.
