The main new feature allowing a re-start of the mission in 2004 was the proposal of India to provide an IRS platform instead of the French Proteus. Thus, the pressure on the CNES budget has been reduced.
The tentative launch date for the Megha-Tropiques mission is December 2009, according to the French programmation of the phases C,D of the project. Further ISRO-CNES dicussions will precise this point.
