The scientific activities related to microwaves and rainfall developed within the framework of the Megha-Tropiques mission were presented at the Second French-Japanese Workshop on the Scientific Utilization of Space-based Earth Observation Data. The presentation took place at CNES Headquarters in Paris. Both the activities on quantitative precipitation estimation and quantitative precipitation forecast using microwave data were presented. It was a good opportunity to exchange ideas with our Japanese colleagues on current and future microwave radiometers and sounders. The talk « Quantitative precipitation estimates: entering the Megha-Tropiques and GPM era » given by Dr Philippe Chambon is available here .
